3 Things You Might Not Doing That Could Transform Your Faith
Jun 21, 2025
Have you ever felt like your faith is stuck?
Like you believe in God, but you’re not seeing the growth or depth you really want?
Sometimes the gap between where we are and where we want to be spiritually isn’t because we aren’t trying hard enough—it’s because we’re missing a few essential practices.
Here are three things you might not be doing consistently that could drastically improve your relationship with God:
1. Meditation
Meditation isn’t just sitting in silence—it’s actively focusing your mind on Scripture.
It’s taking a particular verse or passage and mulling it over and over until it seeps deep into your thinking, into your habits, into your heart.
It’s different from simply reading or memorizing. Meditation means slowing down and allowing the Word to transform you from the inside out.
Psalm 1:2 says,
"But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night."
If you want to grow in your faith, meditation has to become a regular part of your life.
2. Devoted Spiritual Community
It’s easy to hang out with other believers and call it fellowship—but true spiritual growth happens when we intentionally gather for the purpose of building our faith.
Watching a game together or grabbing coffee is great for connection, but you also need time where you open the Bible together, pray for one another, and challenge each other to grow.
Hebrews 10:24–25 reminds us,
"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together..."
If you want a deeper walk with God, you can’t go it alone.
3. Daily Repentance
Many people think of repentance as something you do once in a while—when you really mess up.
But repentance is meant to be a daily habit.
Every day, we slip, get distracted, fall short in small ways. And if we aren’t daily realigning our hearts with God, those small compromises can lead to big distance.
Jesus taught us to pray, “Forgive us our sins…” daily (Luke 11:4).
Repentance isn’t about shame—it’s about staying close to God’s heart.
These three practices—meditation, spiritual community, and daily repentance—are game-changers for your faith.
Start small. Be consistent. Watch how your relationship with God grows deeper and stronger.
You’re closer to spiritual growth than you think.
